Estère, September 23, 2025.- The commune of L'Estère is experiencing an unprecedented crisis. After the murderous gang attack « Kokorat San Ras », which burned houses and vehicles, the population is left to itself. Civil society, through the voice of Don Cliff Adrien, denounces the inaction of the authorities and announces drastic measures: closure of the town hall, paralysis of the court and continued blocking of the national road number 1.
Repeated gang attacks are aimed at forcing civil society to reopen the road, vital for the refuelling of the criminals. But according to Adrien, giving in would be tantamount to legitimizing violence. « We will not bow to their demands », he hammered in an interview on radio Magik 9 on Tuesday.
In this climate of terror, public services are collapsing. The chief mayor has long left the commune, leaving an administration paralyzed. The court, already inoperative since the assassination of the justice of the peace, is now under threat of permanent closure.
The health situation is equally dramatic: the Estère hospital is empty, staff being redeployed to the Gonaïves for security reasons. Patients have to travel miles to get access to care, aggravating the distress of an already wounded population.
