Port-au-Prince, June 8, 2026.- The national recruitment campaign of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd On the first day, hundreds of young people from the country's ten departments came to the recruitment centres, illustrating their commitment to serving the nation in a context of significant security and institutional challenges.
In a statement issued on Monday 8 June, the Minister of Defence, Mario Andrésol, congratulated him on his enthusiasm throughout the national territory. According to him, this significant participation reflects the commitment of Haitian youth to the values of public service, patriotism and civic engagement.
« This massive response is hopeful. It shows that our youth is ready to take their place in the national reconstruction effort and to contribute actively to the country's prosperity. », declared the holder of the department.
Launched simultaneously in the country's ten departments, this campaign aims to increase the strength of the Armed Forces of Haiti and to support efforts to modernize the military institution. Many men and women responded to the appeal, despite the difficulties facing the country.
Minister Andrésol also praised the work of the teams deployed in the various recruitment centres, stressing their professionalism in the reception and supervision of candidates.
In accordance with the instructions of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, recruitment operations will continue until 12 June 2026 according to the timetable established by the competent authorities.
This mobilization of youth comes at a time when the authorities are seeking to strengthen national defence capabilities and promote greater citizen involvement in the stabilization and reconstruction efforts of the country.
