Port-au-Prince, November 25, 2025.- On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights (MCFDF) launched, on Tuesday at the Montana Hotel, the 16 days of activism under the theme: « Unite to end digital violence against women and girls ». The initiative emphasises the fight against cyberviolence and the need for collective mobilisation to ensure secure digital spaces.

In their interventions, Sophie Havyarimana (UN Women) and Samir Anouti (UNFPA) recalled the central role of gender equality in national development and the devastating impact of violence on women and girls. They called for enhanced coordination between the State, civil society and international partners.

Minister Pedrica Saint Jean stressed the urgent need to combat online violence and outlined the ministry's priority actions: drafting a law against cyberviolence, creating a network of committed journalists, improving access to justice and preparing the general states on women's political participation.
For her part, the Secretary General of the National Palace, Marie Elisabeth Régine Haddad, recalled that the protection of women was a national responsibility.

This launch marks the beginning of an awareness campaign to prevent violence, support survivors and promote a more inclusive society that respects the rights of women and girls in Haiti.
