Port-au-prince, 21 June 2025.- On the occasion of the Fête de la musique on June 21, the government pays tribute to Haitian musicians and cultural workers. Faced with the challenges of insecurity and economic insecurity, Haitian culture remains a symbol of hope and resilience, reflecting the country's national identity.

On this day marked by the Fête de la musique, Haiti joins the world in celebrating its rhythms and melodies, affirming that despite adversities, its culture remains strong and vibrant. The climate of insecurity, economic insecurity and the exile of many talents fail to extinguish the creative flame of Haitian artists.

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé expressed, on this special day, his deepest congratulations and gratitude to all the musicians of Haiti, whether in the national territory or in the diaspora. He stressed the crucial role of these artists who will, through their music, make the voice of the pains and hopes of the Haitian people heard.

A resilient culture

Haitian musicians perform not only in the streets and studios, but also on international scenes, embodying the aspirations of their country. They are the guardians of collective memory and scouts of a promising future. Their work makes it possible to vibrate the national soul, and even in the most difficult moments, they manage to float the blue and red flag high.

The Head of Government also paid tribute to all cultural workers, such as sound engineers, managers, technicians, producers, dancers, writers and visual artists. These actors, whether in the spotlight or in the shadows, build a powerful rampart day after day: Haitian culture.

In Haiti, music is much more than just art. It serves as a refuge for those who suffer, a peaceful weapon against violence, and a way of social promotion for young people. Every note played and every voice that rises are living proof that the Haitian people refuse resignation. Hope remains, and beauty still exists, even in the chaos.

On June 21, the government, through a communiqué, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the living forces of culture, calling for solidarity around its artists, the real pillars of national identity.
