Mexico, 20 September 2025.- A group of 150 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd的H) completed this Saturday a specialized military training in Mexico, sanctioned by a graduation ceremony in San Miguel de los Jagüeyes. This step symbolizes a new step towards strengthening and professionalizing the Haitian army.
For several weeks, the soldiers underwent intensive training covering various areas: military discipline, field tactics, crisis management, and inter-force coordination. This initiative is part of a strategic partnership between Haiti and Mexico to support the modernization of the Fads.
This programme is of particular importance in the context of the reconstruction of the Armed Forces, which were dissolved in 1995 and subsequently relaunched two decades later. For the Haitian authorities, this is a major step forward in building a force capable of addressing the country's security challenges, including the rise of armed violence and threats to national stability.
Returning soon to Haiti, graduates will be deployed to various units to help defend the territory and support internal security efforts. Their integration is seen as strategic support for an army in the midst of a reorganization, in a context where security remains an urgent priority for the country.
