Port-au-Prince, June 29, 2026.- The great return of the shared sky: Since June 26, the Haitian company Sunrise Airways officially connects Cap-Haitien to Punta Cana and Santiago. Following the partial reopening of Dominican airspace, these new strategic lines pave the way for the opening of Haiti and propel Caribbean connectivity.
After a period of restrictions, the Dominican Junta de Aviación Civil (JAC) authorized the resumption of commercial passenger and cargo flights, but only to and from the Cap-Haitien International Airport. The other parts of the Haitian territory remain restricted. Sunrise Airways immediately jumped on the occasion to strengthen its regional network.
These new links are not just additional lines. According to Sébastien Bayard, the company's deputy general manager, these new flights facilitate the travel of business travellers and tourists. For the company, the Cap-Haitien-Punta Cana line is above all a strategic opportunity: it allows passengers to stop in the Dominican Republic and then fly to other countries in the world. It is a key step to reconnect Haiti to the entire Caribbean region.
Reservations are already open! Flight schedules, rates and frequencies are accessible directly on the company's official website, its mobile app or via authorized travel agencies.
