North, 13 January 2026.- The Coordinator of the Presidential Council of Transition (CPT) Laurent Saint-Cyr and Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé officially launched, this Tuesday, 13 January, the rehabilitation work of the Hinche-Saint-Raphaël section of the national number 3. This project, funded by the European Union and its international partners, including the French Development Agency, provides for the construction of five works of art by V & F Construction.
The event brought together several personalities including members of the CPT, the Minister of Public Works, as well as representatives of the Diplomatic Corps. This section will reduce the distance from Nationale n°1 by about 60 kilometres, thus facilitating the transport of people and goods between the Northern Department and the rest of the country, according to the authorities.
The Prime Minister pointed out that these books constitute « essential pillars of the Haitian economy, promoting the mobility of people, goods and resources, while stimulating domestic production and trade ». The project also aims to strengthen regional integration and stability in the Northern Department, contributing to the economic development of this area.
However, the completion of this ambitious project raises questions about its continuity. As the Transitional Presidential Council and the current government approach their deadline, Prime Minister Son-Aimé stressed that « unity and stability remain essential to continue these structuring projects ». The complete rehabilitation of the Hinche-Saint-Raphaël section will thus depend on the ability of future authorities to ensure the continuity of the State and the rigorous monitoring of the project to its end.
