Nesmy Manigat, an ambitious Haitian vision at the GPE for tomorrow's school

 

United States, November 7, 2025.- The former Haitian Minister of Education, Nesmy Manigat, was appointed Senior Envoy and Education Advisor to the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) on September 5, 2025. Already Chairman of the Organisation's Finance and Risk Committee, Mr. Manigat intends to mobilize the international community to make education a global priority.

Currently on a mission to the United States, on Thursday, 6 November, Nesmy Manigat gave an interview to Guy Wewe Radio, during which he spoke about his new functions within the PEG. He said he had made several recent trips, notably to Spain, Qatar and France, as part of a campaign to rally international actors and global foundations around the educational cause.

A trained economist and recognized expert in educational policies, Mr.Manigat led the Ministry of National Education of Haiti from 2014 to 2016, and from 2021 to 2024. In 2024, he was elected Chairman of the Finance and Risk Committee of the EPG, a body responsible for ensuring good financial governance and transparency in the use of the organization's resources.

In his new high-level role, he will represent the EPG at international meetings, advocate for sustainable funding for education and advise the partnership's senior management on key strategic directions. « The EPG wants to make education the priority of global policy »he said, stressing that the future of nations depends on formation and youth.
