The Space Science and Society supports Dora, the San Francisco Declaration on the Evaluation of Research (San Francisco Declarationon Research Assessment)

The scientific section Science Space and Society expresses its full support for the San Francisco Declaration on the Evaluation of Research (DORA).

The San Francisco Declaration San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment or DORA) was written in 2012 by scientists of the American Society of Cell Biology (in English, American Society for CellBiology and a group of editors of scientific journals. It aims to improve the evaluation of scientific research by calling into question the misuse of bibliometric indicators, in particular the newspaper awareness indicator (Impact Factor Journal) to evaluate research or researchers.

DORA recommends a number of criteria to improve the relevance of the evaluation, inviting the bodies responsible for this approach to develop new indicators on the importance and impact of research products.

After discussing the terms of the San Francisco Declaration on the Evaluation of Research, Editorial Committee of the Space Sciences and Media Society InfosNation, placed under the scientific direction of the association Haiti Sciences and Society (HaSci-So), adopts the resolution to support and sign Dora.
