Liancourt, September 15, 2025.- Around 2 a.m. this 15 September, heavily armed men from the Gran Grif gang launched a violent assault on the Liancourt Office. In short and understaffed, the police officers present had to retreat. The assailants set fire to the premises, plunging the town into intense tension.
The attack occurred on the night of 14-15 September. Exceeded by the firepower of the attackers and without available reinforcements, the officers were forced to retreat, leaving the building in the hands of the gang.
After taking control of the scene, the Gran Grif gang members set fire to the police station. According to Mario Charles, Radio Métropole correspondent in Bas-Artibonite, it is currently difficult to confirm whether there are any casualties.
At around 7 a.m. this morning, reinforced units of the Haitian National Police attempted to regain control of the situation. However, the area remained marked by high security tensions.
