FNE reaffirms its commitment to combating illiteracy in Haiti

 

Port-au-Prince, October 28, 2025.- The National Education Fund (NEF), represented by its Director General, Mr. Elysé Colagen, took part, on Monday, October 27, 2025, in the Literacy Partnership Day organized at the El Rancho Hotel by the State Secretariat for Literacy and Non-Formal Education. On this occasion, the institution renewed its support for initiatives aimed at building a literate Haiti with a focus on sustainable development.

Placed under the theme « Partnership for an literate and sustainable Haiti »This day of reflection and exchange brought together several institutional, technical and financial actors involved in the fight against illiteracy.

The State Secretary for Literacy, Mr. Mozart Clérisson, took the opportunity to acknowledge the continued commitment of all partners, including the National Education Fund (NEF), which he described as essential support for the implementation of literacy programmes across the country.

For its part, the presence of the Director General of the FNE, Mr. Elysé Colagen, at this ceremony, reflects the firm will of the institution to continue its support for the national collective effort to eradicate illiteracy, considered a major obstacle to the economic and social development of Haiti.

In this way, the NEF intends to strengthen its collaboration with educational structures and community actors in order to promote inclusive, equitable and sustainable education in accordance with its core missions.
