Port-au-Prince, February 4, 2026.- The Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) has published, this Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the results of the National Examination of Nursing Sciences of January 11. With an overall success rate of 44.5 per cent, the 2025 session revealed a striking dominance of provincial public institutions, led by UEH Cayes (100 per cent) and UEH Cap (96 per cent), contrasting with the difficulties of urban centres and unsuccessful candidates.
The process, spread from November 2025 to January 2026, mobilized 30 proof-readers to assess 4,357 candidates in three main seats: West, North and South. To ensure the integrity of the results, each copy was anonymously corrected by two separate persons. Of all applicants, 1,941 obtained their valuable right to exercise.
Far from the capital, the regions show impressive vitality. The departments of Artibonite (65.1%) and the South (63.6%) are leading the national ranking. This dynamism is driven by regional public institutions that are close to perfection:
- UEH Cayes has a historical failure with 100% success.
- EUH Cap follows closely with 96%.
- The Public University of the Centre (UPC) maintains a high level of 88.1%.
Conversely, the UEH Port-au-Prince stagnates at 58.5%, illustrating a growing gap between the capital and public universities in the region (UPR).
Individual excellence remains the prerogative of UNASMOH Port-au-Prince and UNDH Cayes, whose winners, Geniflore Clervilus and Wouidline Toussaint, both won an average of 97. Within private networks, UNDH has disparate results, ranging from 85% success in Gonaïves to only 31.3% in Jacmel.
The challenge of failure
If regular candidates leave with a rate of 51.6%, those who tried their luck again (received) show only a low 21.9% success. This raises the question of continuous supervision after a first failure.
