Fort Lauderdale hosts the first-ever Global Forum of the Haitian Diaspora in December 2025

Fort Lauderdale, November 29, 2025.
– The Federation of World Organisations of the Haitian Diaspora (FOMODA), which is the foundation of nearly 200 Haitian organizations worldwide, launches the first edition of the Global Forum of the Haitian Diaspora. The event will be held from 11-13 December, Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale, in hybrid format. Conferences, cultural celebrations, exhibitions and gala are on the programme, with the participation of guest artists such asAnie Alert and King Kino
.

The Haitian diaspora is about to experience a historic moment. FOMODA, a not-for-profit organization with structures based around the world, has formalized the holding of this unprecedented event, thought as a space for convergence and collective impact.

Guests on the Magik 9 28 November, Rebecca LucSecretary-General of FOMODA, and Kurdy Lareche, member of the organizing committee, have confirmed that the event will allow a participation at the same time and online. The aim is to bring together Haitians of all skills and backgrounds in order to strengthen global solidarity around Haiti.

The Forum will propose a varied programme including: High-level panels, Exposures1 evening of praise, and will end with a Grand gala. The presence of renowned artists will enhance the brilliance of this first edition.

According to Kurdy Lareche, the initiative aims to create a Strategic Unit among Haitians living abroad, in order to « common front » and « Focus on Haiti » through concerted actions, partnerships and structuring projects.

For Rebecca Luc, this global event is « to all Haitians, without distinction as to sector » and aims to become a space for expression, collaboration and innovation in the service of the country.
