From 3 October to 3 December 2025, the Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti will hold the 23rd National Scientific Conference, bringing together Cuban and Haitian experts on major health emergencies: dengue, malaria, typhoid, lymphatic filariasis and HIV/AIDS. More than 95 scientific papers are expected to strengthen research and the family medicine program at the service of the Haitian population.
The meeting will take place under the slogan « Updating and deepening knowledge for better service ». It will mark several symbolic dates: the centenary of the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016), the 27 years of medical collaboration between Cuba and Haiti, the 192nd anniversary of doctor Carlos J. Finlay and the first year of the family medicine program in Haiti.
At the heart of the exchanges are advances in public health, hygiene and epidemiology strategies, surgery, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and medical entomology. The Cuban Ministry of Health (MINSAP) stresses that this event aims to consolidate research as a pillar of clinical and therapeutic development, with a direct impact on the quality of care in Haiti.
This initiative is a continuation of Cuba's humanitarian commitment, which reaffirms its commitment to putting science and solidarity at the service of regional health challenges.
