Port-au-Prince, 28 September 2025.- Members of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD-H) have reacted strongly to the abolition of 1.6 billion gourdes from their budget, provided for in the exceptional amending budget adopted on 22 September by the government. On social media, the @SupportFAd « You say you want to restore security, but you have removed 1.6 billion gourdes from the Haitian Armed Forces budget? »
The critical message also raised the 1.9 billion gourdes granted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, questioning the performance of Haitian diplomacy. « This correction is a hard blow for the population »concludes the publication.
This reaction comes as the FAD-H deplores the death of several soldiers engaged in the fight against insecurity throughout the country. They also face a chronic lack of resources to feed, equip and house their troops, as well as to ensure the minimum logistical requirements for their operations.
