Banet, 14 January 2026.- On Wednesday, 14 January, the Banet Health Centre, a municipality in the South-East Department, delivered 83 letters of assignment to community staff and employees. The ceremony also helped to install Mr. Jean Gilner Bar Association as a new administrator. The event was attended by local authorities and health professionals. It is part of the strengthening of the municipality's health system.
This initiative follows last November's visit by Dr. Sinal Bertrand, Minister of Public Health and Population. This visit took place after the health problems the municipality has been experiencing for almost a year.
Present at the ceremony, the Departmental Director of Health of the Southeast, Dr. Judeson Jean, welcomed the Minister's commitment. He recalled the MSPP's commitment to increasing access to care, particularly for the most vulnerable populations. He also called on staff to be rigorous and professional in the provision of services.
Commitments of the new administration
Officially installed in his duties, the new administrator Mr.Jean Gilner Barreau expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him. It is committed to improving the quality of care, the management of the centre and administrative transparency. The medical director, Dr Damas Jean Berlin, assured of his collaboration. The contract agents, by the voice of Moses Delmas, greeted a moment « historical » for the municipality. Local authorities, including Mayor Dominique Clive Mc Cala and Vice-Delegate Rémy Pierre, also applauded this move.
By issuing letters of assignment and appointing a new administration, the Bainet Health Centre is entering a phase of revitalization.
Future efforts will include continuous improvement in the quality of care. They will also cover the repair of necessary equipment and the sustained support of staff. The objective is to respond effectively and sustainably to the health needs of the population.
