PNH: BRID celebrates 11 years of commitment to national security

In an atmosphere of recollection, gratitude and fraternity, the Brigade of Operation and Departmental Intervention (BOID), specialized unit of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), celebrated its 11th anniversary. On this occasion, a Mass of thanksgiving was sung on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 to honour the course of this elite force. Founded on 24 June 2015, the BRID was originally designed to provide the police institution with a mobile intervention force capable of responding quickly and effectively to the country's major and complex security challenges.

During the ceremony, the head of the unit, Chief Commissioner Appolon Alix, outlined the main historical lines and highlights of the BRID. He highlighted the many strategic operations carried out over the years, while welcoming the successful results achieved in the field. The senior officer attributed these successes to the unwavering determination, discipline and commitment demonstrated daily by the officers assigned to this front line unit.

This memorable event took place in the presence of the highest authorities of the @pnh official, notably the Director General a.i., Mr. André Jonas Paraison, Inspector General Alain Auguste, as well as the Departmental Director of West-1 (DDO1), the Divisional Commissioner Yvon Cantave. Several former leaders of the brigade, including the Divisionary Commissioner Frenel Saintil and the Chief Commissioner Gué Dieu Maître, also enhanced the brilliance of this commemoration. The ceremony closed with a presentation of plaques of honour and merit to several policemen, thus welcoming their dedication, bravery and fidelity to the Haitian homeland.
