The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) Vijonet Déméro brought together on 24 June in Pétion-Ville the heads of the institutions of the Episcopal Commission for Catholic Education (CEEC) as part of the second day of discussions on the National Policy for Accreditation of Private Schools, Vocational Training Centres and Private Universities. This initiative aims to raise awareness of the recognition and accreditation procedures of educational institutions.
On this occasion, Minister Vijonet Déméro praised the historic role of the Catholic Church in the Haitian educational system and affirmed that the modernization of this sector would contribute to the transformation of the Haitian school. He also presented the main projects of the MENFP, including curriculum reform, single book, digital education, citizen education, mental health in schools, the construction of public schools and the extension of the National School Canteen Programme.
The INFP, ANESRS, FNE and PNCS officials detailed procedures for the recognition of vocational schools, private universities, access to grants and integration into the school canteen programme. At the close of the meeting, the Director General of MENFP, Osny Jean Marie, issued permits to operate and direct several heads of institutions in the Department of Education of the West.
