New Air Age: Trogon challenges Sunrise in Haiti

Port-au-Prince, July 23, 2025.- A new era is opening up in Haitian air transport with the announced arrival of Trogon Airways. The company plans to launch domestic flights from August 2025 connecting the main cities of the country, including Port-au-Prince, Les Cayes and Cap-Haitien. Preparations are already under way, including the establishment of offices at the airports concerned.

This entry into service could put an end to Sunrise Airways' de facto monopoly in the Haitian sky for several years. According to the online media Passion Info PlusTrogon Airways intends to propose a new alternative for travellers, in a previously uncompetitive sector.

Faced with the emergence of new airlines, Sunrise Airways takes a cautious stance. It has recently expressed doubts about the legal compliance of certain companies, such as Aruba Airlines, to operate on flights between Haiti and the United States.

Sunrise presents itself as a guarantee of safety and respect for standards in civil aviation, while highlighting its historic role in structuring national air transport. The arrival of Trogon Airways could nevertheless defeat the maps and instill a new dynamic in the sector.
