Washington, September 14, 2025.- Gathered in the capital of the United States in front of the U.S. Federal Reserve, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said artificial intelligence has already eliminated certain trades, particularly in services. He praised his performance in medical diagnosis while warning of the risks associated with this technological revolution.

During his speech on 22 July, Sam Altman did not chew his words: « Some categories of jobs will, again, just totally, totally disappear ». According to him, the occupations of the service are the first victims. From now on, a phone call can be supported by an AI capable of providing complete, prompt and error-free assistance. « She can do whatever a customer support agent could do. »stressed the leader, stressing the superior effectiveness of these tools in relation to human standards.

Beyond the services, the CEO of OpenAI highlighted the potential of AI in the medical field. ChatGPT would, according to him, be able to « provide a better diagnosis than most doctors in the world ». However, he wished to clarify this by recalling the importance of the human factor: « I really don't want to entrust my medical fate to ChatGPT without a human doctor in the loop », he conceded.

While Sam Altman praised the strengths of AI, he also recognized the dangers of such a breakthrough. In particular, he mentioned the loopholes associated with voice authentication, which were easily bypassable by voice AIs. These technologies could be exploited by scammers, exposing institutions and individuals to new risks.

This intervention is part of a political context marked by the « AI Action Plan » announced by Donald Trump, aiming to develop new data centres in the United States. Between promises of efficiency and fears of drifts, AI has become a central topic in economic, technological and ethical debates.
