Camp-Perrin, 29 November 2025.- The General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) launched, on 24 and 27 November, a series of panel discussions at the Hotel Le Recul, bringing together executives from the departmental directorates of the South, the Nippes and the Grand-Anse, civil society actors and territorial representatives. These meetings were aimed at strengthening the fight against corruption, promoting sound public management and establishing constructive dialogue between institutions and citizens.

Work began on Thursday, 24 November, in a climate of transparency and good governance. On this occasion, the IGF presented its missions and recalled its role in promoting a culture of integrity in public institutions in the Great South.

In her inaugural speech, IGF Director General Goethie Varnelle Morency highlighted the theme: « IGF towards a double decade of control, accompaniment and fight against corruption for a healthier public administration ». She stressed that this is a call for collective action, consultation and shared responsibility, while presenting the conference as an open space for sharing experiences and creating common solutions.

At the close of the conference in Les Cayes, Guillaume Carlos, Departmental Director of the South at the Ministry of Defence, drew up a severe observation of the effects of corruption, which he described as a major obstacle to wealth creation and to economic and social development. He welcomed the IGF initiative and stressed the need for a frank dialogue between the State and the population.

On Thursday 27 November, always at the Hotel Back, IGF continued its discussions with departmental executives and civil society. This meeting, which was part of the continuation of the conferences held in the South-East, was marked by the presentation of certificates of thanks to the departmental directorates of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), in recognition of their collaboration in favour of good governance.
