Port-au-Prince, February 13, 2026.- The Media Library Jacques Stephen Alexis (MJSA) gathered on Thursday, February 12, an audience composed mainly of young people for a lecture-debate on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Hosted by Haitian experts Frantz Pierre Louis and Rony Charles, this meeting offered a double reading of the AI, combining practical and theoretical analyses, and allowing participants to better understand the potential and limitations of this revolutionary technology.
During his speech, Mr. Frantz Pierre Louis illustrated the transformative role of AI in the education sector. Through examples of foreign schools, he showed how these tools can promote personalized learning, but also warned about the risk of reducing critical thinking among students if use remains superficial.
For his part, Mr. Rony Charles detailed the fundamental mechanisms of the AI, explaining its functioning as a complex system and enabling the public to better understand the algorithmic and decision-making processes underlying this technology. The ensuing discussion showed a strong interest in this topical topic.
The conference ended with an artistic performance by Delva Breakenson, praised by the audience, and was orchestrated by Mr. Jacquelin Louis, head of the MJSA. This activity illustrates the commitment of the MJSA, attached to the National Directorate of Book, to promote innovation and scientific culture among young Haitians.
