Port-au-Prince, 10 July 2025.- The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) extends the deadline for political parties to comply with administrative requirements until Tuesday 22 July 2025 at 3pm. The trainings concerned will have to submit several key documents, or they will lose their official recognition.
In a note published on Wednesday 9 July, the (MJSP announced the extension of the deadline for political parties to regularize their administrative situation. Initially scheduled for an earlier date, the new deadline is now set at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 22 July.
This decision aims to offer parties, still late, the opportunity to comply with the formal requirements required to maintain their legal status. To this end, the MJSP requires the filing of a complete file comprising: a true copy of the act of recognition of the party, its updated and duly signed statutes, the full list of its national executive office, as well as the official address of the seat accompanied by a supporting document.
In addition to these pieces, each party will also have to submit a list of departmental coordinators, including their contacts and tangible evidence of activities in the departments concerned.
Documents must be deposited exclusively at the Legal Unit of the Ministry, located at 18 Charles Summer Avenue, Port-au-Prince. The reception times are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The MJSP recalls that, in the event of non-compliance with this procedure within the time limit, the failing parties will be considered non-functional. Consequently, they will lose all privileges related to their official registration with the competent authorities.
