Port-au-Prince, 10 July 2025.- In a public note, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) announces a series of changes in the Southern Department, affecting several prosecutors near the Courts of First Instance (TPI), with the aim of reinvigorating judicial action throughout the country.
According to the MJSP, this decision aims to strengthen the operational capacities of the courts, to optimize the distribution of human resources and to better support judges in the performance of their duties, while respecting the principles of rigour, efficiency and proximity to litigants.
The changes concern the following judges:
– Pierre Elliott PAUL, Deputy of the Commissioner of the Government, until now interim is transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office near the ICTY of Cap-Haitien;
– Mr. Maxène EBELIOT, Deputy Commissioner of the Government in Côteaux, is assigned to the ICTY of Les Cayes;
– Mr Berlus RILFORT, Deputy Commissioner of the Government in Les Cayes, is transferred to Miragoâne;
– Mr Kensly BENJAMIN, serving at the Public Prosecutor ' s Office, joins that of Côteaux;
– Mr. Max Samora METELLUS, previously at the Office of the Prosecutor of the Côteaux, is now assigned to that of Les Cayes;
– Pierre DoRMEVIL, former Government Commissioner for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, is appointed Government Commissioner for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The latter has already been sworn in.
