Port-au-Prince, February 15, 2026.- The National Police of Haiti celebrated, on Saturday, February 14, the 30th anniversary of the Corps of Intervention and Maintenance of the Order (CIMO) during an official ceremony, organized at its base in Delmas 1, in the presence of Director General André Jonas Vladimir Paraison and members of the High Command, in a particularly demanding security context.
Placed under the theme « Loyalty, Resistance and Pride »The celebration gave rise to official interventions highlighting the strategic role of CIMO in managing public disorder situations. Police officials stressed the contribution of unity in the fight against banditry and in law enforcement operations, including demonstrations and episodes of civil tensions.
The ceremony was also marked by the presentation of honour and merit plates to several executives. The current Commander of CIMO, Divisional Commissioner Paul Ménard, is among the recipients, along with two former unit officials. In a symbolic approach aimed at strengthening ties with the surrounding community, children living near the base were decorated.
Created on 14 February 1996, CIMO remains the first specialized unit of the HNP dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of public order. Three decades after its founding, the unit continues to occupy a central position in the national security system, while the challenges of stability and security persist.
