The Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE) presented its new logo, designed by Yves Martin Rosier, winner of a national competition. This change is part of an approach to modernising the institutional image, but it is already a matter of great controversy.
The new visual completely abandons the national coat of arms — flags, cannons, motto — for abstract symbols: stylized palm, growth bars, gear, handshakes. This choice is seen by many as a denial of the country's history and republican identity.
Critical voices point to the fact that national symbols are not decorative: they embody a revolutionary memory, torn away at the cost of blood. The absence of these symbols in a ministerial logo is interpreted as a worrying erasure or even an attempt to depoliticize the fundamental role of the State.
