Port-au-Prince, January 15, 2026.- The National Federation of Mayors of Haiti (FENAMH) participated in the 2nd National Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations, held on 15 and 16 January 2026 at Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince.
The delegation was led by FENAMH Executive Director Joseph G. Billy Louis, alongside the institution's Secretary-General and Mayor of Roche-à-Bateau, Fritsnel Chery.
The meeting brought together national and international NGOs, local authorities, public institutions and technical and financial partners on the coordination of development actions, local governance and sustainable development strategies.
On this occasion, FENAMH reaffirmed its call for structured collaboration between NGOs and local and regional authorities to ensure interventions that are better adapted to local realities. For Joseph G. Billy Louis, the forum « a strategic framework enabling local elected representatives to contribute to better harmonisation of NGO actions ».
Fritsnel Chery, for his part, stressed the need to involve municipalities directly in the design and implementation of projects, a prerequisite for their effectiveness and sustainability.
Through this participation, FENAMH confirms its commitment to building the capacity of municipalities and promoting inclusive and participatory local governance.
