Rabat, 16 December 2025.- The Protector of the Citizen, Jean Wilner Morin, represents Haiti at the 7th Congress of the Association francophone des commissions nationales des droits de l'homme (AFCNDH), opened this Tuesday, December 16 in Rabat. Focused on « artificial intelligence and human rights »debates alert to the potential abuses of AI including cybercolonization and call for a framework that respects fundamental freedoms.

The work of the 7th Congress of AFCNDH is taking place in the Moroccan capital around a major issue of our time: the impact of artificial intelligence on human rights. At this high-level meeting, Haiti is represented by the Protector of the Citizen, Jean Wilner Morin.

The discussions concern the search for a balance between the opportunities offered by AI, innovation, the effectiveness of public services, access to information and the risks it poses to fundamental rights, including privacy, non-discrimination and public freedoms. Participants caution against abuses such as cybercolonization, abusive surveillance and algorithmic biases.

In this context, national human rights institutions call for a legal and ethical framework for AI, based on transparency, accountability and respect for international standards. The participation of Jean Wilner Morin reflects Haiti's commitment to contribute to this collective reflection and to promote a governance of the AI compatible with the protection of human rights.
