Port-au-Prince, September 4, 2025.- The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alfred Fils Métellus, launched this Thursday, September 4 in the Far North, the regional consultation workshops for the development of the Recovery and Economic Development Plan 2025-2030, in the presence of technical and financial partners.
The Haitian Government, through the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), initiated the process of designing the Recovery and Economic Development Plan 2025-2030. This plan, developed in collaboration with several sectoral ministries and Technical and Financial Partners (TPF), aims to define a new inclusive and sustainable growth strategy for the country.
The official ceremony was held on Thursday 4 September in the Far North under the chairmanship of Minister Alfred Fils Métellus. These regional workshops aim to broaden the participation of local authorities and the departmental private sector in the process, in order to ensure that local realities are fully taken into account.
In their statement, the representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ms. Corinne Catala, and the representative of the World Bank, Ms. Anne Lucie Lefebvre, expressed strong support for this initiative. They welcomed an approach that places departments at the heart of the recovery strategy, promoting more inclusive and participatory governance.
With this first workshop in the Great North, the Haitian Government is setting an important milestone in the development of the 2025-2030 Recovery Plan. The next steps will be to increase regional consultations in order to achieve a strategic document that can boost the national economy and strengthen the country's resilience to its multiple challenges.
