Port-au-Prince, July 4, 2025.- The Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), Niola Lynn Octavius, strongly rejected the recent allegations of corruption disseminated by certain organizations and media. It denounced the lack of prior dialogue and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and compliance in the management of public funds.

In a statement issued this Friday, July 4, Minister Octavius expressed her deep concern at the spread of these accusations without any contradictory steps. She pointed out that she was never asked to present her version of the facts, which runs counter to the principles of justice and fairness. In her view, this omission constitutes an infringement of fundamental rights and a breach of the basic rules of adversarial law.

Ms Octavius recalled that the management of public funds is the responsibility of legally empowered institutions. It expressed its readiness to report to these bodies, thus fulfilling its obligations as a public officer. Its approach is guided by principles of transparency, probity and accountability in accordance with the requirements of the rule of law.

Since her appointment, Ms. Niola Lynn Octavius has implemented initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of the staff of the Ministry, supporting youth associations and increasing access to sports training through scholarships. It has also worked to enhance the potential of young people in the fields of sport, civics and culture.

In the face of misinformation that might harm her image, the Minister reserved the right to initiate legal proceedings if necessary. It also called on all relevant actors to exercise discretion and not to make hasty judgements, allowing the competent bodies to conduct their assessments independently.
