EDE strengthens its international diplomacy: signing an agreement in Spain and participating in the World Youth Leadership Forum

A delegation from the Les Engées pour le Développement Party (EDE), led by Dr Claude Joseph, President of the Strategic Council, took part in the 10th edition of the Global Youth Leadership Forum, held in Santander, Spain, from 12 to 17 October 2025. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of Political Studies and Formation (INEFPO), the party's scientific body, and the Global Youth Leadership Forum (GYLF), with a view to strengthening political formation, international exchanges and promoting democracy.

Composed in particular of Ritshy Derulus, National Coordinator of Mouvman Jenès EDE, Géraldine Lucea, National Coordinator of Mouvman Fanm EDE, and former Defence Minister Berthier Antoine, the delegation took an active part in the work of the forum, organized this year around the theme: « Deglobalization and corporate diplomacy: the new world order ».

During the session on Monday, October 13, Dr Claude Joseph spoke as keynote speaker on the topic of international cooperation in times of crisis, sharing his diplomatic experience at the head of the Haitian government during the VOCID-19 pandemic. He highlighted the virtues of international solidarity, institutional agility and multilateral dialogue in addressing global emergencies. His intervention aroused great interest among young leaders, policymakers and international experts present.

In a statement published on his social media, Dr. Joseph described this experience as "the best way to achieve this goal".« enriching and inspiring », stressing that the participation of EDE in this global event demonstrates its willingness to position Haiti in the global debate on democratic governance and international cooperation. Through this initiative, the party reaffirms its vision of a committed, trained and inclusive youth for the sustainable development of the country.
