Port-au-Prince, November 11, 2025.– The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) officially launched, on Monday, November 10, the GenTech 3D Haiti competition, designed to stimulate innovation and creativity among young Haitians in the field of 3D printing for sustainable development.

On the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development, this initiative aims to enhance Haitian youth by promoting scientific and technological innovation, which is essential for building a sustainable and peaceful future.

The competition brings together young academics and junior engineers from the five major regions of the country: the North, the South, the Great Anse, Artibonite and the West. Its objective is to promote the adoption of innovative technologies, to strengthen local 3D printing skills and to highlight the potential of young people in the scientific and technological fields.

The event also made it possible to highlight the inspiring paths of young people already trained by UNESCO in 3D printing. Their testimony highlighted the crucial role of science and technology as levers for sustainable development and peace.

Through GenTech 3D Haiti, the organizers hope to encourage a growing interest in emerging technologies and generate concrete projects that can contribute to Haiti's socio-economic progress.

This launch marks an important step in efforts to make innovation a pillar of national development. By focusing on youth, this initiative paves the way for lasting solutions to the country's challenges.
