Pétion-Ville, January 22, 2026.- The Office d'Insurance Accidents du Travail, Maladie et Maternité (OFATMA) organized, on Tuesday, January 20, a day of training, at the National Police School (ENP), intended for aspirants of the 35th promotion of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), in order to familiarize them with their social rights and the insurance services provided to them.
The delegation, led by Ms Cassandre Cilien, head of the Social Insurance Service, and Mr Jose Cherenfant, head of the Promotion Service, explained the mission of OFATMA and the programmes accessible to police personnel. Particular emphasis was placed on the death capital and the steps to benefit from it in the event of the death of an agent. Participants asked questions and were satisfied with the answers received.
After the session, the seekers provided their information to obtain their insurance card, opening immediate access to the institution's services as soon as they were integrated. The OFATMA also recalled its role in the protection of agents, facilitating the medical evacuation of seriously injured police officers to Cuba for specialized care.
This training shows that the OFATMA is not limited to informing, but acts in practice to protect the police. Between insurance cards and medical evacuations, the institution accompanies future agents in their mission, while strengthening the social security of Haitian law enforcement.
