Santiago, 21 August 2025.- The mass exodus of young Haitians abroad should challenge us, because many intellectuals are forced to leave the country. Shelenchie Rose Naïka Jeanty, a 24-year-old Haitian, has just made history by becoming the first Haitian citizen to pass the Bar Examination in Chile.

Born in 2001 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Shelenchie Rose Naïka Jeanty is a determined young woman. After immigrating to Chile in 2016, she obtained her bachelor's degree in 2018. In 2019, she joined the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Chile, according to the Platform for Young People.

From May 2023 to August 2024, she conducted an internship at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica. In December 2023, she successfully supported a memo on migration and family justice, obtaining the score of 90/100 with very good mention.

Haitian youth continue to stand out internationally, excelling in universities with exemplary notes. Many of them are forced to leave Haiti, either to flee gang violence or due to the socio-economic crisis.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Shelenchie brilliantly passed the Chilean Bar Examination with the perfect score of 10/10. It thus enters into history as the first Haitian woman to realize this feat.

Its journey is a source of inspiration for Afro-Caribbean youth, the Haitian diaspora in Chile and the migrant community as a whole.
