Port-au-Prince, September 4, 2025.- Invited to Panel Magic on Thursday 4 September, former Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the National Conference, announced that the body is currently working on a draft society, in addition to the new Constitution already submitted to the executive and an institutional and legal reform in preparation.
The main task of the National Conference Steering Committee is to develop three projects: a draft new Constitution, a draft society and institutional and legal reform. According to Enex Jean-Charles, after the official presentation of the constitutional text, the emphasis is now on the drafting of a draft society already outlined in the preamble to the new Constitution.
Eighteen texts, to be presented in the form of a draft decree, are being prepared and will form the core of this new society project. « These documents are the result of meetings and forums organized by the Steering Committee. », said the former Prime Minister.
However, Enex Jean-Charles pointed out that the Committee does not have the authority to decide on the application of the proposed texts. Its mission is limited to making recommendations and providing institutional tools to the executive branch.
This work, said the Chairman of the Steering Committee, is part of the desire to provide the country with a framework for political and social re-foundation, while promoting a broad national dialogue.
