Cayes, 13 December 2025.- In Les Cayes, on Friday 12 December 2025, the Councillor-President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Leslie Voltaire, made a technical visit to Antoine-Simon Airport, recently rehabilitated, on the occasion of the arrival of an international flight from IBC Airways. This is in line with the authorities' desire to strengthen air connectivity and the opening of the Great South to international markets.

Accompanied by members of his cabinet and experts in civil aviation, Councillor-President Leslie Voltaire was welcomed by Jean Nathan Letang, President of the Southern Chambers of Commerce and of Haiti. The delegation carried out an evaluation of the facilities at Les Cayes Airport, now capable of receiving foreign flights, which marked an important step in the process of modernizing regional airport infrastructure.

Guided by engineer Noël, responsible for rehabilitation work, the Councillor-President noted the state of progress in infrastructure. The visit took place in a context of satisfaction expressed by airport users, particularly with the arrival of the international flight operated by IBC Airways, the first concrete sign of the revival of international air links in the Great South.

This official visit illustrates the Transitional Presidential Council's commitment to promote an inclusive and sustainable air connectivity policy, seen as a strategic lever for regional economic development. The mission continued with a meeting between the delegation and several women's organizations at the Hotel La Cretonne in Les Cayes.
