MORN Vice President, Dieupie Cherubin
Port-au-Prince, January 30, 2026.- A few days before the constitutional deadline of February 7, the Mouvement pour la Réconciliation et la Reconstruction Nationale (Mouvement pour la Réconciliation et la Reconstruction Nationale (MORN)) made a severe observation of the ongoing transition. Considering that the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) and the government have failed, the movement calls for their immediate departure and calls for a new leadership, based on a credible bicephalous executive, capable of restoring national security and confidence.
With 87 political parties and more than 3,000 affiliated organizations, MORN says it does not support the CPT or the Prime Minister in office. According to the movement, the two branches of the executive are engaged in a barren arm, to the detriment of the country's stability, while insecurity continues to worsen.
Speaker on Thursday, January 29 on Radio Télé Ginen, former South-East Senator Dieupie Cherubin, Vice-President of MORN, analyzed the current political situation. He reiterated that the movement's position reflects that of all its components, denouncing the inability of the CPT and the government to respond to the country's major challenges.
MORN advocates the formation of a bicephalous executive, composed of a consensual president, from the Court of Cassation, the political sector, civil society or even the CPT, but judged less conflicting, accompanied by an independent Prime Minister, credible and not associated with armed gangs. The movement insists on placing national security at the centre of priorities.
For MORN, February 7 at midnight must mark the end of the CPT's and the current government's mandate. This position reflects the desire of the movement to impose itself as a key player in political recomposition, relying on credibility, honesty and the restoration of state authority as the basis for a new transition.
