Brasília, 10 August 2025.- On August 8, 2025, thirty Haitian police officers, including six women, began a specialized training course at the National Academy of the Federal Police of Brazil in Brasília. Guided by the prestigious Tactical Operations Command (OTC), this session aims to strengthen the operational capabilities of the HNP elite units in fighting gangs and securing high-risk areas.
The programme, led by the Brazilian Federal Polícia, covers a wide range of operational skills: urban interventions, techniques of arresting armed individuals, movement into confined spaces, securing strategic sites, and methods of releasing hostages.
The objective is clear: to equip Haitian police officers with tools and strategies to win back neighbourhoods heavily affected by crime. This intensive training illustrates the security cooperation between Haiti and Brazil in the fight against insecurity.
By December 2025, some 400 other HNP officers will have the opportunity to follow the same programme, thus widening the impact of this initiative on all the specialized units of the institution.
