Port-au-Prince, October 1, 2025.- The National Association of Suppliers of River Eels of Haiti (ANAFARH) denounces the attitude of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), which it accuses of favoring certain organizations of the sector. It threatens to paralyze the industry at national level if it does not receive its operating licence.
In an interview with Radio Télé Ginen on Tuesday, September 30, the president of ANAFARH, Jesubon Nancy, demanded an official licence from the ministry, while denouncing the granting of more than 24 licences to other organizations whose names have not yet been published. « The Department has already distributed more than 24 licences, but is slow to make the list public », he said.
President Nancy says he's ready to go to court if his organization doesn't get his license. It reminds the State of its obligation to regularize all organizations operating in the country, without discrimination. Finally, it threatens to block national action in case of refusal by MARNDR.
