Stockholm, 9 September 2025.- The appointment ceremony of the new Swedish Minister of Health, Elisabet Lann, was marked by an unexpected incident on Tuesday 9 September. As she was attending the official opening of the 2025-2026 parliamentary session, the 48-year-old elected woman collapsed in full speech, under the misguided gaze of assistance.
Presented by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Elisabet Lann, a figure of the Christian Democratic Party, suddenly lost consciousness, violently hitting his head against the desk, according to images relayed on social networks. Security personnel quickly intervened to provide first aid before evacuating.
After returning to her mind, the minister explained that she had suffered hypoglycaemia. « It wasn't an ordinary Tuesday... This can happen when you have a low blood sugar level »she told the Swedish media. As a precautionary measure, the post-ceremonial press conference was cancelled.
Elisabet Lann was appointed head of the Ministry of Health to replace Acko Ankaraberg Johansson, who recently resigned.
