On the occasion of International Youth Day, the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) unveiled the 100 young people selected in its programme « CAP Innovation – Creation, Support, Propulsion ». Seven Haitians are among the beneficiaries, with projects ranging from digital culture to social transformation, illustrating the dynamism of Haitian youth within the Francophone space.
On 12 August 2025, the OIF published a list of 100 young project promoters selected under the programme. « CAP Innovation », a mechanism that highlights promising initiatives in Francophones. Out of over 3,100 applications from 49 states and governments, seven Haitians were selected, confirming the creativity and commitment of the country's youth.
Among them, the teacher and cultural operator Ar Guens Jean Mary, from Jacmel, was selected in the category « Culture and digital » with his project « Pixels in Scene », designed to train twenty artists with digital tools to modernise and enhance their artistic practices. « This is not just a personal opportunity, but a commitment to my community. », he said.
He also featured Chela Joseph and Rodney Toussaint in the category « Train, include and empower », Jhamily Hill Pompilus in « Innovating for the environment and culture », Marie Fednard Celiscar and Wyddian Prophet in « Commitment and social transformation », as well as Kathie Nephta Desire Jarbath in « Culture and digital ».
Launched last April, the programme « CAP Innovation » Targets young people aged 18 to 35 with projects related to education, ecology, culture and social transformation. Beneficiaries will receive personalized support, entrepreneurship training, expert webinars and strategic support.
A jury of experts will select 20 of the most promising projects by the end of the year, 8 of which will receive financial support of up to 10,000 €. For the OIF, it is a matter of transforming « impact » and to strengthen the capacity of Francophone youth to act.
