Relaunching the Haitian economy: university youth mobilizes in Jacmel

Jacmel, August 24, 2025.- On 23 and 24 August 2025, Jacmel University Institute of Science (IUS) hosted the 2nd edition of the University Youth Forum on Economics, organized by C.A.R Management. Placed under the theme « Relaunching Haitian Economy: University Youth in Action », the event brought together several renowned speakers, who shared their thoughts and solutions for a sustainable economic future.

 

For two days, students, researchers and experts gathered around a common goal: to reflect on the role of youth in Haiti's economic recovery. The forum, initiated by C.A.R Management, established itself as a platform for dialogue, exchanges and concrete proposals.

 

Speakers in this edition included Zidor Fednel, Dr. Deus Deronneth, Franck Lauture and Hebert Lahatte, who spoke in a presentation on: « Business ethics ».

At a distance, Dr. Samy Basly and Dr. Christophe Élie dit Cossack enriched the discussions, the latter addressing the topic of « technological and economic innovation ».

 

The forum also benefited from contributions by Dr. Fred Celimène, Dr. Christophe Providence, Dr. Mackenson Saint Cyr, Lovson Vilsenat and Dondy Pierre, who spoke on: « Youth entrepreneurship as a lever for growth ».

 

Beyond the conferences, the exchanges highlighted the need for Haitian youth to become actively involved in building a more innovative, ethical and inclusive economic model. Speakers stressed the importance of entrepreneurship, technology and social responsibility as pillars of sustainable recovery.

 

This 2nd edition of the University Youth Forum on Economy marks an additional step towards networking the country's living forces and confirms the central role of youth in Haiti's economic transformation.
