Port-au-Prince, August 28, 2025.- The former MP and Vice-President of COREPAD/PEA, Pélito Doran, believes that institutionalized corruption is the main cause of Haiti's multifaceted crisis. It accuses two influential members of the private sector of currently controlling the state and calls for the establishment of a national alternative, led by the « true patriots ».
In a context marked by the resumption of political discussions at the initiative of the Organization of American States (OAS) to assess the governance of the transition, former MP Pélito Doran took the floor to propose a way out « to Haitian » the crisis in the country.
Professor Doran, also Vice-President of the Coordination of Organisations for Reform and Democratic Participation/Alternative Engagement Platform (COREPAD/PEA), says that corruption deeply rooted in public administration is the main cause of current instability. According to him, the situation is aggravated by the control of the State by two powerful private sector actors, a sector that concentrates most of the national wealth and feeds a strong social disparity.
« The country can no longer wait »said Mr Doran, announcing the readiness of COREPAD/PEA to work alongside committed patriots to establish a political alternative that can replace the current leaders.
Calling for a mobilization of the living forces of the nation, the former parliamentarian urges his compatriots to join COREPAD/PEA in the fight against corruption, which he considers a must-see step to transform the fate of millions of Haitians.
