Port-au-Prince, July 31, 2025.- Protest lawyers again paralyzed, on Wednesday 30 July, the activities at the Port-au-Prince Public Prosecutor's Office, demanding the unconditional departure of the Government Commissioner, Frantz Monclair.
In court, these lawyers have multiplied their actions to prevent the normal functioning of the prosecution. In front of the cameras, they strongly opposed Monclair's presence, demanding his immediate dismissal. Iswick Teophin denounces abuses of power and acts contrary to the law.
« The presence of Monclair represents an imminent danger to the profession of lawyer. He keeps defending arms traffickers, ammunition and even organs »said Mr. Teophin. The protesters claim to be ready to answer to the bar any complaint filed by Frantz Monclair.
It should be stressed that this movement, which paralyses the functioning of the Public Prosecutor's Office, causes a blockage of many important cases and infringes the rights of citizens awaiting trial or hearing.
