Red Terrier, September 7, 2025.- A decisive step has just been taken in the development of the Far North. The first stone of the future Port Royal was laid on Saturday, 6 September, in the presence of the highest dignitaries of the State, representatives of the private sector and entrepreneurs of the region. Ported by the society PC Terminal S.A, in partnership with the National Harbour Administration (AFN), this plan previews an initial investment of 60 million dollars in order to equip the northeast of a modern harbour terminal.
The ceremony, chaired by Patrick Beliard, took place in Chinourette, a commune of Terrier Rouge, near Fort-Liberté. Councillors-Presidents Leslie Voltaire and Fritz Alphonse Jean, several members of the government, as well as heads of the chambers of commerce and industry of the Far North, took part, demonstrating the strategic nature of this project.
The future Port Royal will become a major development lever for the region and a strategic logistics hub for regional integration. It is part of a strong commitment to strengthen national economic sovereignty and to accompany the sustainable recovery of the Haitian economy.
Beyond its economic importance, this project illustrates an unprecedented convergence between public and private actors around a common objective: the modernisation of the country. The Transition Presidential Council reiterated its commitment to support all initiatives in this direction, in order to promote the well-being of the people and to boost the entire North.
