Port-au-Prince, November 24, 2025.- The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) has recently launched a new digital service allowing online registration of business names. According to an official note, interested persons can now complete the procedure from their home and register their business in a few clicks via the Ministry's institutional site.
This procedure, long perceived as complex and time-consuming, is now more accessible: users must complete an online form, pay the required fees through a local payment application, and then receive their registration certificate directly in their mailbox.
This initiative is part of the desire to modernize the Haitian public administration and facilitate access to essential services. However, several users have already expressed frustration. Some deplore the slow processing of applications, while others report the impossibility of including their National Unique Identification Number (NIN) in the platform.
Faced with these difficulties, stakeholders in the sector are calling for better coordination between the MCI and the National Identification Office (ONI), in order to optimize system performance and ensure a smoother user experience.
