Florida, July 16, 2025.- Arrested on May 21, 2025 in Homestead, Florida for alleged harassment, Haitian journalist Watson Désir was officially found not guilty. On Monday, 14 July, he received a certificate of justice confirming the dismissal of the case.
In a public statement relayed on his accounts through social networks, the journalist denounced an arrest which he described as arbitrary. He claims that no formal complaint had been filed against him and that the police authorities were never able to justify his arrest.
« The judge has decided to close the case since June 27. I have just received the document which attests that I am completely cleared. I have no connection with the charges against me. »said Mr. Désir.
Recognizing those who supported his innocence throughout the proceedings, he deplored the damage suffered to his reputation. « I was arrested without clear motive, without legal basis. It was a difficult test, but the truth triumphed », he concludes with joy.
