Port-au-Prince, January 14, 2026.- The Ministry of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights (MCFDF) has installed two new directors on Wednesday, January 14, at the Ministry's office in Delmas 48. This appointment concerns Ms. Ronique Paul Jean to the Directorate for Combating Violence against Women and Girls (DLCVFF) and Ms. Marie Carline Laurenceau to the Departmental Directorates Coordination Unit (UCDD), as part of the institutional strengthening and modernization of the Ministry.

Ms. Ronique Paul Jean, former Departmental Director of the West, is committed to strengthening the fight against gender-based violence and improving the protection of victims. Ms. Marie Carline Laurenceau, who previously headed the DLCVFF, will focus on coordination, knowledge sharing and capacity building of departmental directorates to improve the effectiveness of the ministry's actions throughout the country.

These appointments strengthen the leadership of MCFDF and give new impetus to the fight against violence against women and girls. Ronique Paul Jean and Marie Carline Laurenceau will face an immediate challenge: protecting young girls in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and internally displaced persons camps, where insecurity and violence remain alarming. Their ability to transform commitments into concrete actions will determine the real impact of the ministry on the ground.
