Port-au-Prince, July 18, 2025.- Haitian photojournalist Patrice Noël has been selected to participate in Eddie Adams Workshop 2025, a prestigious annual meeting that brings together the best young talents of global photojournalism. The event will be held in New York from October 10 to 13. He is the only Haitian to be among the 100 participants chosen this year.
An inspiring journey
Born in July 2001, Patrice Noël has been practicing photography for more than four years and turned to photojournalism about a year ago. Driven by a deep social commitment, he uses the image to document Haitian realities too often ignored or distorted.
For him, this selection represents both an honour and a responsibility: « Being chosen to represent Haiti on such a prestigious scene gives me even more motivation to continue telling true, human and essential stories. »
A platform of excellence
The Eddie Adams Workshop, held in Jeffersonville, New York, is a four-day intensive, free program. It offers promising young photographers the opportunity to train with great names in the profession through portfolio reviews, lectures and practical sessions.
A committed vision
Patrice Noël wishes to take advantage of this experience to broaden her perspective, develop her future projects and strengthen her skills. He sees this workshop as a unique space for transmission, mentoring and exchange. He encourages young Haitian photographers to remain faithful to what deeply affects them: « The strength of the photojournalist lies in the truth he transmits. You must dare to tell, even what is not popular. »
An Ambassador of Haiti through the image
Determined to change the outlook on Haiti, Patrice refused to reduce the country to violence and stereotypes. « Haiti is not just gangs or a lost youth. It is also a resilient, creative and dignified population », he says.
Professionally, he works with the American agency Zuma Press and has collaborated as a freelancer with Associated Press and EFE. At the local level, he collaborates with Gazette Haiti News.
