Journalist Marvel Dandin
Port-au-Prince, March 12, 2026.- The residence of Haitian journalist Marvel Dandin, general manager of Radio Kiskeya, was the target of an armed attack on the night of Thursday, March 12, 2026, around 00:30, according to information confirmed by a source close to the file.
According to this source, several heavily armed individuals went to the journalist's home, located in the district of Soison, in the heights of Petion-Ville, where they tried to enter the house. The attackers reportedly spent more than 30 minutes trying to force a door leading up to the floor, where Marvel Dandin's room is located, suggesting that the journalist was directly targeted.
During the attack, individuals also opened fire inside the residence, causing serious concern in the neighbourhood. Alarmed by the detonations, local residents reacted, while the police were dispatched to the area.
In the face of noise and mobilization in the area, the attackers finally fled before the arrival of the security forces.
A justice of the peace went to the scene to ascertain the facts. At the time of the legal finding, eight casings corresponding to the shots fired by the attackers were found on the scene.
Marvel Dandin is one of the country's best known and respected journalists. In particular, he hosts the show « Di m ma di w » Radio Kiskeya. No further information was immediately available on the reasons for the attack.
